Join us as we drum and chant for PEACE!
A community is a special thing. We are lucky to have so many people in this area that share the same interests and goals – come out and meet them! It is our hope to strengthen the bonds that unite us in this area. Please join us for a call and response chanting circle and an open drum circle where we will make music and have FUN! Our focus will be on chanting and drumming for peace and the healing of the earth.
Please bring ANY instruments you have – drums, rattles, etc. If you don’t have a drum – even more reason to come! There will be plenty of instruments to share.
No reservations required – Hope to see you there! Children of any age are welcome, cherished, and loved – please bring them so they can participate!!
There is no charge for this event. Feel free to bring a snack to share and donations to the Peace Center are appreciated for use of the space!
ALL proceeds from this event will benefit The Peace Center, a non-profit organization, working for conflict resolution, peace education and social justice since 1982. There are many students who would like to go as far as they can with their Reiki but have no desire to teach Reiki. For these reasons there is an intermediate stage between Second and Master Level.
This class is an intensive program during which advanced theories and techniques of Reiki are taught. The student also receives a traditional Master's initiation that has a dramatic affect on the students personal growth and life awareness.
In our advanced training you will learn about healing techniques and energy to help yourself and others.
- Receive the Advanced Practitioner attunement which raises the vibrational frequency of the Reiki energy.
- Experience and learn the Usui Master practitioner symbol, which increases the effectiveness of the other symbols and strengthens intuitive awareness of Divine guidance.
- Learn to discern the subtle energies connected with the Reiki symbols, through a guided meditation that can help to strengthen the mind and expand consciousness.
- Learn advanced techniques to facilitate goals and learn spiritual lessons.
- Use Reiki to strengthen your light and raise the vibration of the collective creative consciousness to facilitate peace and healing.
- Learn to create a special Reiki energy matrix in the form of a crystal grid, which continuously transmits healing energy for specific purposes.

In today's environment we are bombarded by all kinds of sounds; so much so that it can make it difficult to hear/feel the Vibrational Universal Energy (or wave) that is all around us and in everything.
Come learn something new about the nature of sound and how it affects our whole being. In this interactive class, you'll learn about how sound can heal, and discover easy, effective ways you can use sound for your well being. Everyone is welcome, regardless of your musical experience.
Ian will include introduction in the utilization of one's voice, Pure Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls, Tibetan Singing Bowls and Bells, Drums, Rattles, Tuning Forks, Peruvian Whistles, and a myriad of other traditional and contemporary instruments used in sound therapies worldwide today.
Ian Haag is a Reiki Master and Sound Healer, he uses Sound Healing in his Vibrational Energy Healing sessions to balance, heal, and release.

"Reiki Angels" - Children Level I Reiki Class

 Magic Hands! Bringing together Reiki and the Young is a sure recipe for magic on Earth. In this workshop children will get in touch with subtle energy and learn simple methods of using Reiki. It is designed for those that march to their own beat and hear the sounds of all. We offer a nurturing, supportive atmosphere which allows them to explore their innate potential.
Children have a natural awareness of healing energy. They are very close to the flow of life. It is easy for them to learn Reiki. In this class we honor their unique perspectives and present Reiki in a way they can understand. An attunement will be offered during this workshop, the acceptance of which is entirely up to the child. The emphasis will be placed on experiencing Reiki and putting words and feelings to this experience through art, movement and sound. Most of all, they will meet other kids their age, have a lot of fun, and leave fully empowered to use Reiki in their life!

Medicine Drum Making Workshop

The beat of the drum is the heartbeat of Mother Earth, and connects us to our own heart.
Making a drum is really a transformational journey into our hearts.
The drum is a part of native heritage from tribal cultures all over the world. This single sided shaman drum is a traditional native drum crafted using a wooden hoop or frame and a stretched rawhide head and lacing. Covered on only one side, the back is laced to form the symbol of a medicine wheel with the four cardinal directions that also serve as a hand hold. Great for drumming circles and meditation.
In this workshop you will be supplied everything you need to create your own frame drum and accompanying beater. While you are making your creations Valarie and Ian will teach you the care and feeding of your drum, as well as how to use them in healing and cleansing ceremonies. We will sing songs and tell stories throughout the two days.
On Friday evening we will begin with a Drum Journey to connect to the Heartbeat of the Drum, and soak our individual hides. Saturday morning we will join together again and start the process of creating our drums and beaters. After creating the drum, we'll celebrate its birth with a special ceremony. Birthing a drum is an intense process, one not easily forgotten.The drum face can later be painted using oil or acrylic paint with your Animal Totem or designs. You can also personalize the drum with beads and feathers to strengthen the connection with your drum.
$145 Registration includes all materials for a 14" diameter drum and beater. All other materials will be provided and are included in the price of the workshop. If you have some special beads or feathers which you'd like to decorate your drum you may also bring them.

Crystal Kids Playclass

The Reiki Level II Attunement increases the amount of healing energy when treating the self and others, and focuses on emotional and mental healing. During this class, you will continue your Reiki training by learning the Usui Reiki symbols. You will also learn how to send Reiki to others who are not with you presently (Distance Reiki), learn to send Reiki energy to heal past events, and how to send Reiki to events in the future. The Reiki Level II Attunement opens your Reiki pathway, allowing more Reiki to easily flow through you. Upon completion of this course, you will be a certified Usui Reiki Level II Practitioner.

Due to the need and request of Reiki for those not attuned, we will now be opening up the Reiki Share from 4:30-5:30 pm on Reiki Share dates as a NO-CHARGE opportunity for the community to receive Reiki from practitioners wishing to volunteer their time! Please spread the word!
This is not a requirement for those attending the shares, as the share will be over at 4 pm, and those wishing to participate may stay. Anyone who would like Reiki, is curious about it, or needs it, is welcome to come to the Peace Center between 4:30-5:30 pm. Please contact us with any questions. It is our honor and privilege to be able to share the healing light of Reiki with those in our community in this way. Love Donations from recipients to the Peace Center are appreciated for this offering.

The children of the new millennium are here with abundant and amazing gifts. When not embraced by their peers and society at-large, the journey of both the child and their family can be scary, isolating and confusing.
